Exploring Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
One of the places I love visiting is Hong Kong. Every visit, I would almost always hold off visiting Disneyland just so I have an “excuse” to come back to Hong Kong —haha! A couple of months ago, my friends from Philippines Airlines asked if I was interested in joining a trip to check out Disneyland. Naturally, I said yes because I’ve never been to Hong Kong Disneyland and I’ve never visited any Disneyland Resort ever. So I was pretty excited to finally check out one. What got me even more excited is I was visiting with some of my closest friends. Let me share to you our experience through my photos.
Disney explorers lodge
Upon arriving at the airport, we were immediately greeted by Disney’s staff to take us to Disney Explorers Lodge, our home for the next couple of days. Upon entering, you are greeted by this beautiful lobby which has a very adventure-like vibe to it. The area is filled with little trinkets of sorts. Even some of the furniture will remind you of an adventure (check out the luggage looking coffee table). I totally appreciate and love the amount of detail they put into making sure that they stuck to the theme. Spent quite some time going around the lobby and its surroundings to see if there are any more interesting spots. After a while we were finally handed our room keys! I was very excited to get to our room since we had a very early flight and I barely got to get sleep so I was planning to maybe take a nap (which didn't happen by the way --too excited haha!) Sharing a few photos of what my room looked like + the view from my room!
More photos of the inside and outside areas of the hotel.
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
During one of our days in Disney, we opted to have breakfast in Disneyland Hotel. This hotel is gorgeous! When you walk in, you are greeted by this beautiful chandelier hanging in the middle of the lobby. The hotel has a Victorian style. Quit different from Explorers Lodge adventurey/vintage style. What caught my attention the most was probably the gorgeous greenery when you step out the hotel. They have a huge maze in the middle where kids (adults too!) can play and runaround and try to get to the other side of the maze.
One of the highlights of Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and also the reason why we opt to eat here is their breakfast buffet. Not only do you get to eat their yummy buffet breakfast in this gorgeous setting, you are also greeted by the Disney cast while enjoying your meal! We totally freaked out when Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto came to say hello.

On to the star of this post, the theme park! I was really excited to finally see Disneyland for myself! I was so happy that I felt like I was a kid again. Seeing all the characters running around, the quirky cartoony buildings, the famous Disney castle—everything just got me really excited. I now understand why people love coming to Disneyland. Everything felt so magical. Cliche as it may sound, it’s the only way I can describe the feeling when you walk in. You’d even pass by a bubble blower machine so it makes you feel extra magical haha!
We had a quick meal in Corner Cafe before resuming our adventure inside. Of course, I was totally excited about seeing most if not all the food in Mickey shapes!
One of the new and exciting things that I got to personally experience is meeting and getting a photo with the old & new Disney friends scattered around the park! Baymax and Hiro, Princess Jasmine, T’Challa, Groot, Moana, Cinderella, Princess Sophia, and Ironnman to name a few!
Besides riding the fun attractions, another thing that will probably get your heart racing (well mine did lol!) was playing the fun mini games in Karibuni Marketplace and win some prizes! My friends Thomas and Kimi won a Sully plush toy just by playing.
Toy Story Land was next on the list and I was so happy to see the cast scattered around the area. You even get to ride Slinky and RC! I kinda wanted to try and ride RC but… I chickened out LOL! Seeing this place brings me so much childhood memories. I remember watching Toy Story over and over and over again and never get tired of it.
Just beside Toy Story land is Mystic Point where you will find Mystic Manor. One of the quirky and fun rides that I got to try during my stay. I got to see Albert, the cute little monkey run around inside the manor.
On to my favorite part of this whole experience: The parades! I will be honest, upon seeing the itinerary and reading that we will spend quite a lot of time watching parades bummed me out. I was kind of hoping to just run around and see the other sites. Thankfully though, I was wrong. Watching the parades was the highlight of my whole Disneyland visit! Seeing all my favorite Disney characters on floats while dancing to Disney songs made me so happy! I remember screaming (no exxageration here) every time I see a new familiar character pass by. This made me feel 10x more like a kid. I was so happy.
We got to watch 3 parades during our visit. The Disney Street Parade, Flights of Fantasy, and Paint The Night (my personal favorite!). Each parade is unique and I suggest watch all of it if you can. It’s really fun to see, listen, and maybe even sing along to the parade.
My friend Kimi even got to join a part of the Disney Street Parade!
Flights of Fantasy Parade
The gorgeous Paint The Night Parade. I loved every bit of this parade! I recommend not missing this!
Currently, as of writing this blog post, the Disney Castle is under renovation and the fireworks display has been suspended for now. No worries, they have the I Love Mickey show in lieu of the fireworks which is equally beautiful. The Main street lights up in gorgeous colors and come alive during the show!
Another thing you shouldn't miss when you're in the park is the Festival of the Lion King show! I was so giddy to be able to hear and sing along to the songs of the Lion King!
That’s it for my Hong Kong Disneyland adventure! I hope I was able to share the joy and excitement I felt during my visit through my pictures! I’m so glad that I was finally able to visit Disneyland. I’m pretty sure this won’t be my last visit to this place! Fingers crossed for another Disney experience soon! Big thanks to Philippine Airlines and Hong Kong Disneyland for giving us the opportunity to be able to experience this wonderful place!
